Baume & Mercier Men’s 8757 Hampton Square Power Reserve Watch

I absolutely love digital watches!! Very practical to wear all the time. I rarely take it off. It’s also good for Baume Mercier 8757 me, because I work in the health care and food service fields, where I wash my hands constantly, and don’t have to worry about my watch being in the water. It is also stays put when I’m playing with my two-year old son (I don’t have to worry about him breaking it either). I like the light on it, because when it’s dark, I can still see what time it is. When the watch came, it was already set (like 5 minutes fast), so I’m not late for anything!!! Even though this is a man’s watch (and I’m a woman), I still wear it! Ladies…the boyfriend watch style is in…
My husband like lightweight watches. I found this on Amazon and bought two of them. I have the other one in case he loses the one he wears daily. The velcro strap is nice. He can pull it off quickly when he wants to play with our little girls. Then he won’t hurt them with his watch.

I bought this as a inexpensive watch for everyday use. I’m hard on watches (scratched crystal) and usually need new one before the battery dies. The buttons on this one are protected, therefore making it hard to press them easily.
I Had This Watch Since I Was A Sophomore In High School. I Am 27 Now, And It Still Works Great. I Never Even Had To Change The Battery. Easy To Use A Great Product For A Great Price. I Am Definitely Getting A Second One.

Baume & Mercier Men’s 8685 Hampton XL Watch

I own three Omegas, two Citizens and three Seikos, but the little Casio Forester is the watch that goes with me into harm’s way. I work in very severe conditions–in the Middle East. You don’t want to expose a fine mechanical or even quartz watch Baume Mercier 8685 to daily dust baths and searing desert heat. The little Casio has held up through the worst of conditions, and still keeps time to within 15 seconds a month of the atomic clock in Colorado. It’s highly water resistant, and so light you hardly know it’s on your wrist. Amazon sells this watch under $20. How can you complain about a rugged, accurate watch for under $20? I usually wear an Omega when going “out on the town,” but the Casio is my watch for the dust storms and being around things that could knock your expensive watch silly. My expensive watches will last much longer because I have sense enough not to wear them to work!
I picked this up from Walmart near the same cost. With all the watches to look through in the carousel, I kept coming back to this one. I needed something to replace a nice simple Timex that broke after a couple years.
The timex was great and still works but rendered useless as the light function / button broke. I now use it as a dog collar on my sister-in-law’s Chihuahua. (Now a true “watch dog”)
The selling points for me, seemingly durable, extremely comfortable, small but significant face, much less intrusive and bulky as compared to the old dog collar. The light is fantastic and extremely bright. I even use it to light my path through the house at night without the need of turning on overhead lights. (going from sofa to bed without disturbing anyone)
The price and styling cant be beat. Overall, a fantastic durable, comfortable bargain of a watch. I will be wearing this 24/7 just as I did the old dog collar

1. Shipping was done in time!
2. Watch looks good and is really original as confirmed by B&M repair shop.
3. Unfortunately watch does not work without failure (cronograph function is partially out of order). No international guarantee, as also mentioned in the description. Shipping back would cost $65.
Thus I gave the watch for repair to an original B&M repair shop: Cost: round $85.
Summary: Three stars!
I’ve had various incarnations of the Timex Ironman watches over the years. They take a beating and have great functionality. To me, this model has about the best practical value overall, being rather feature-laden without being overcomplicated. One distinct value of this watch over the “sleek” and similar models, is that it does NOT have an integrated band. Sure, integrated bands look cool, but if you wear the watch daily the band will start to break down after about a year and then you have to send it back to Timex for a new band. Not so with this watch. New users will have to take a little time to figure out the various functions of the watch, but once you get the idea, operation is very logical. The stopwatch is great for training, having more laps at your disposal than you’re ever likely to need, multiple timers and alarms, and two time Baume Mercier 8444 zones. These are also useful for training, but also just useful in general life (moreso than you’d think). In all, a solid choice for a digital sports watch, and an excellent value considering Amazon’s prices. Highly recommended.
This is the fourth watch I’ve bought for running since I began to need reading glasses for near objects, and its the only one that solved all the problems aged eyes cause a runner. The FLIX option is fantastic and worked without a hitch, and is easy to see at night. The buttons are easy to see and work, and become intuitive within an hour of strapping the watch on, even while running. Its even fairly attractive, as digital watches go. Most important is that the numbers are large, clear, and easy to read even when running through the desert — as an aside, if you ever get shin splints try offroad running, especially in deep sand: its easier on your legs, more effective as cardiovascular excercise and much more interesting. My only complaint (and its a small one) is that a digital compass would have been a nice addition for offroad runners, but I was able to fix that with a Suunto Clipper L Micro Compass (Luminous Bezel). Other than that this watch would get a five star rating, so if you run on the street, buy it.

Baume & Mercier Men’s 8809 Hampton Classic Black Dial Watch

I have a Timex Ironman Traithlon Sleek 50/100 (T54281) that lives up to its name–sleek. My partner needed a new watch, so I ordered this one so we wouldn’t have the same watch. When it arrived, I was a bit surprised at how big it is compared to the Sleek 50/100, and when he put it on, it was just too big for him (he’s only 5′7″ and I’m 6′0″), so I gave him my watch and kept this one. It took me Baume Mercier 8809 a while to get used to the size of it, but I’ve grown accustomed to it. Aesthetically, I still like the Sleep 50/100 better, but functionally, I like it as much as I’ve liked any of my previous Ironman watches.
One thing I noticed about the Sleek watch that I hadn’t noticed on previous Ironman watches is that it is very easy to change modes when you bend your hand back like you might when lifting weights. Even though the size surprised me, one reason I ordered it was that I thought its bulkiness and protective protrusions around the mode button might keep it from changing mode when working out. They don’t. Wear it while pressing a few pounds, and you will most likely change it from from one mode to another.
I only gave it four stars because the FLIX function requires you to really shake your arm to make the INDIGLO light up. It’s easier to just press the INDIGLO button with your other hand–assuming you have one and it is free. :) If money is important to you, I’d recommend the cheaper non-FLIX versions. Otherwise, this watch is a great buy for anyone who likes Ironman watches, wants to save a little money over purchasing one in a sporting goods store, and doesn’t mind wildly shaking your arm to invoke the FLIX function.

I bought this watch to help me with the “Couch to 5K” (c25k) running program. This entails nine weeks of running three times per week. It progresses from a very easy start (first week starts with brisk five minute walk, then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes). Then the second week it’s 90 seconds of jogging, 2 minutes of walking, and so on, until by the end of it you’re running 3 miles or 20 minutes non-stop. It’s a nice program for people who are out of shape. So I wanted a watch that could help me time all this, and this model does the trick perfectly. It’s been a while since I owned a digital watch, and I’m impressed with how much thought has gone into the design. The little things jumped out at me when I started playing with it – for example, pressing the ‘Reset’ button will show in big letters ‘HOLD to reset’ while you have it pressed in, which makes it obvious how it works. If you know the general idea of how these things usually work, then you really don’t need a manual. Here’s a quick rundown:

Baume Mercier 8809

Seiko 5 Men’s SNK809 Automatic Black Strap Black Dial Watch

Seiko offers two similar versions of a mechanical “military” watch:

The SNK809 (which is black, but there are other colors). This has a 21 jewel movement (generally the 7S26B, but the earlier models have the 7S26). It has a 36mm case (excluding the crown) and18mm wide band.

The other model is the lager SNZG15 (which is black, but there are other colors). This has a 23 jewel movement (generally the 7S36B, but earlier models have the 7S36). It has a 40mm case (excluding crown) and an 22mm band.

Both of these watches are gray market. You won’t see them for sale in US stores.

I’ve owned my SNK809 for several months and love it. Its very accurate for the price. Mine gains about 5 sec/day. You’ll have to spend a lot of money to do better than that in the mechanical watch world.

Two of my friends own the SNZG15, and they seem to gain about 10 sec/day. Note: The fact the SNZG15 has 23 jewels doesn’t mean its more accurate than a 21 jewel movement. It’s larger, pushes more mass (bigger hands), and thus I speculate is inherently less accurate than the smaller SNK809.

I got my SNK809 on eBay for $45 + $25 shipping (2009). However, it was shipped from Hong Kong. It had to clear customs, shipping takes about three weeks, and has more inherent risk. I’d expect to pay more on Amazon if it was shipped from within the US. Similarly, I’ve seen the SNG15 for as little as $105 with free shipping, shipped from Singapore.

What I did not appreciate at the time I bought my SNK809 is that its water resistant rating is 30 meters (WR30M). 98 ft. That seems sufficient unless you’re a serious scuba diver, right?

Wrong.

Look up water resistant ratings for watches on Wikipedia.

30 meters is the static water pressure for the test conducted in the ratings lab. The working/dynamic pressure rating will be much less. You should not even shower wearing a WR30M watch, let alone swim with it. WR30M is considered splash resistant only. I have splashed my watch, it still runs great, but depending upon your lifestyle, this may or may not be an issue.

The bigger SNZG15 is rated at WR100M, which you can swim and skin dive with. The smallest rating you should swim with (but no skin diving) is WR50M.

The other aspect of the SNK809 you should be aware of is that its smaller than most watches are today. In the 1960’s an 18mm band was typical. Today its small, aesthetically, particularly for a person with large wrists.

When I first got my SNK809, I was Seiko SNK809 taken aback by how thin the band looked (and I have smaller than average wrists). I have read the market Seiko is targeting with this model is teenagers in Asia. That market base probably has smaller wrists than the average American male.

But after wearing it for awhile, I noticed I wasn’t banging it into things like I do with my larger watch. And it fit under my shirt sleeves better.

Its notable that my friends say the 22mm SNZG15 is a bit bigger than they wish it was.

I’ve concluded I like the 18mm band. I’m an outdoorsman (when I can be), and do wish the SNK809 was at least WR50M. Other reviewers will say they wish it had a hacking mechanism or a sapphire crystal. Those are not issues for me, and for the price, let’s get real.

This is a phenomenal mechanical watch for what you’ll pay. I wear mine to work every day. I wear it to meetings and snicker to myself as my second hand moves at six clicks per second, while others sitting at the table suffer the one second lurch of the ubiquitous quartz movement. Yes, I’m a watch geek. Just be aware of the smaller width of the band and WR30M rating. If those aren’t big issues for you, you can’t beat it.
This is a nice little entry level automatic watch. Upon opening the box it came in the first thing I noticed was the size of the watch itself and the band. The watch itself is somewhat small but not too bad. its slightly larger than a quarter. The band however is much smaller than I expected. I have tiny wrists so It doesn’t bother me too much but someone with a larger wrist may find it odd looking; it’s really just preference and shouldn’t make or break the deal as the band can easily be swapped out. The watch has a nice heavy weight to it and doesn’t feel cheap like some other larger automatics I have. One strange thing I noticed right away when I picked up my watch was that the weight that spins the mainspring slides against the interior of the watch as I move it. So I can feel the weight as it moves around. This doesn’t bother me but I hope its normal and doesn’t mean I got a faulty watch. Everything is working fine at the moment (I’ve only been wearing it for a day) and I see no other problems or peeves about the watch. I’ll break down the pros and cons here:

(PROS)
+ Overall nice looking watch. As most watches; the picture online just doesn’t do it justice.
+ Watch has a nice weight to it.
+ It’s an automatic for under $100; thats a bargain, especially for a Seiko.
+ The luminous hands are pretty good and last for a good 20 minutes. (Not as good as a Seiko Monster but what do you expect)
+ Comes with a 3 year warranty (although the retailer warranty card I received was not filled out by Amazon, not sure if this matters)

(Cons)
- Both the watch’s body and strap were smaller than I expected.
- Hardlex glass is not exactly the best material, it suffices but Mineral would’ve been better. Sapphire is good too but thats a little too much to ask for in a watch of this caliber.
- Grindy mainspring weight.
- Malaysian movement. Although it says this watch has a Japanese movement in the specs; There is a Malaysian movement in them. I believe these are designed in Japan and built or assembled in Malaysia; either way the movement is definitely not made & assembled in Japan. If this was already common knowledge I apologize.
- Water resistance is sub-par. This watch should at least have the ability to withstand swimming and not just be resistant to minor splashes.

All in all it seems like a nice watch. As long as that weight isn’t defective and its normal everything should be fine. I’ll post an update eventually to let you know how its held up over time.

*** Update
I’ve been wearing the watch almost everyday for a few weeks now. It’s kept time perfectly only gaining a couple seconds a day. It’s by far the most accurate automatic I own; even more than some of my Swiss ETA movements. As far as the quality of the watch it seems almost perfect. I love the size and look of it. The Hardlex has held up and I still have no scratches on the dial or caseback (More time will tell how well it really holds up) The only problem I have with this watch is that it seems theres still some friction between the weight and the inside of the watch body. This has been causing it to sometimes keep the weight stationary at some points rather than spin around as it should. It still spins with enough force but some normal hand movements have not been enough to keep the weight moving. That being said it hasn’t been a big enough problem to cause the watch to stop on me. It still keeps ticking long after ive put it down. After some research I realized this watch uses the same movement as the famous Seiko Monster & is a bit of a workhorse for seiko.

Baume & Mercier Women’s 8427 Hampton Spirit White Dial Black Alligator Watch

I ordered this watch because I needed a stopwatch for my new job as a soccer referee. I always buy Timex watches when I can, since they’ve proven to me that they’re reliable, and not to mention, cool. This one was no exception. I was especially impressed with the style; I wear often even when I’m not reffing. And for the price, along with the accuracy and style, this is Baume Mercier 8427 all anyone can ask for. The resin band is comfortable and durable, and the numbers on the LCD are easy to read, unlike some watches. Although perhaps there are better watches with even more functions if you’re willing to spend fifty bucks or more, this is an excellent bargain. The other guys I reffed with enjoyed borrowing it from me, and now that the season’s over, I’m still loving it.

Purchased this for an anonymous teenage boy during a Christmas charity event at my church. So glad I was able to find a watch with so many features in the price range we were allotted (under $25) and the Indiglo function is an added bonus. Trusted the Timex brand for many years, so this was an easy decision. I am confident the gift recipient will get lots of good use out of this watch.
I bought this as a weekender, but it’s almost my favorite watch. It’s simple to operate — has all the basic features without having to go through multiple nested functions just to use a feature. Very accurate, as measured against my atomic wall clock. It’s large enough to be easy to read but very light – you hardly know you have it on. Easy to read at night with the illuminator feature. One note, the band is a bit large – mine’s in the last notch and it’s still a bit loose. It’s hard to imagine better value for the money. Casio builds wonderful watches at all price points, and this one is just great.

Baume & Mercier Men’s 8255 Hampton Spirit Watch

I bought this watch from Watchery.com com couple of weeks ago. This is my first square watch and I love it. I have this in Mother of Pearl Dial not in Black. I would like to hear from other owners ofthis watch what they think. I am told this model has been does continued. Does anybody know about that?
I have a few watches either batteries are dead or broken. So I figure out that the battery must be last long in order to having a lasting watch. This watch has 10 years battery life fits my need. In addition, the back cap can be opened easily using a small screw driver. You can change the battery yourself if you are handy. BTY, this watch does not have the problem of accidental press reported by other users of different models since all buttons are on the top.

Some years back I bought two Casio watches with 5 alarms and 30 line data storage for tel numbers. Since they have served long and active lives and finally succumbed to mechanical damage and scratched lenses I’ve been looking for a replacement. The Casio DB-37H is what I’ve been looking for; the Wal-Marts and K-Marts don’t have them. Amazon not only had them but had a very reasonable price and free shipping! Naturally, I bought two of them!
I have used Casio Data Bank watches for years and love them. Not only do they keep good time they have so many other features that there is “a lot of bang for the buck”. I especially like the data bank feature so I can keep phone numbers, bank account numbers, etc. for easy access. That way that information is always with me. The only thing I don’t like abbout this particular model is that the AM/PM-24 hour button is too exposed. I prefer the AM/PM mode and quite often it is in the 24 hour mode because I accidentally touch the button. The other thing about all of the plastic Casio watches is the plastic part where the strap attaches will sooner or later break. I always buy a couple of extra watches to have on hand.
I had bought the older model DB36-1AV 7 years ago only to find that the buttons on the side was inconvenient for me. This watch Baume & Mercier 8255 has the buttons on the front which eliminated my wrist from unintentionally pushing the buttons. It has 5 alarms, 30 page data bank, stop watch, count down timer, dual time, daylight savings, auto light-on with a flick of the wrist (can be turned on/off), 50M water resist, and 10 year battery. I have an older 10 Year battery Casio which is 7 years old and it’s still running on the same battery, original band still intact, wore everyday. This watch is one of the most rugged watches that I’ve ever owned.

Baume & Mercier Men’s 8759 Riviera Steel White Dial Watch

Love this little watch! Great buy for the price. The band is soft and easy to wear. The display is big (perfect for a sports watch) and it is easy to set up (although it is a little difficult to push the buttons, seems like you have to push hard, but I guess that prevents it from being pushed accidentally). Indigo light is very cool as is the chronograph feature. Comfortable and easy to use! Let’s hope it stands the test of “time.” (Pardon the pun!)
I LOVE MY NEW WATCH!!! Baume Mercier 8759 It works great! The colors go with everything I wear, and it’s very stylish. The only thing is that it’s a bit hard to remember everything in the instructions. But after the first 2-3 days, I remembered how to set the date, time, alarm, and use the stopwatch! Mine came with a little stand to put the watch on, and it’s very handy. I thought it was a very good purchase, and it’s inexpensive, too. It’s worth your [...]!
I like this watch, but I bought it to “time my workout” as was advertised that that was a function of the watch. I thought that meant it would have a stop watch feature, which it doesn’t. You can reset the seconds to zero, but unless you know what the time was when you reset to zero, you can’t time a work out.
Also, as most of the cutomer reviews have said, it was incredibly hard to program. I followed the directions step by step and it took me awhile to finally get the programing to work.
I’ve had three versions of this watch in the past three years. I like the style and the colors a lot. The water resistance is great, and the display is a good size and not too cluttered. The only problem I’ve had is that the strap tends to break every year, but since it’s not that expensive, I’ve just been replacing it with the same style every time.

Casio Men’s PAG110C-3 Pathfinder Solar Eco-Green Digital Watch

I have been using my new watch for about 3 weeks now and the amount Casio PAG110C-3 of features is awesome! The only downside to buying online is that you don’t really get an idea of the dimensions of the product. In my case, this green monster was not as bulky as my previous Pathfinder (which I hoped it would be), but apart from that, awesome watch with an amazing amount of features in such a compact design. Really nice “green” statement all around :-)
I just can’t believe that Amazon or Casio would do this…. Advertise something that the watch does not have. One of the main reasons I ordered this watch was because it says very clear that it has moon phases and tide graph. I’m very disappointed, now I have to start the process of returning it from another country.

This watch is very attractive, IMHO, and very reasonably priced. I like the option of setting the smaller digital display to read either the current date or to duplicate the time in digital format.
The only negative comments I would make are: 1) The back faceplate is rather shiny. If the light hits it just right, the reflections can sometimes interfere with seeing the hands. This isn’t a big problem, but does take a bit getting used to. 2) The protective, clear faceplate is cheap plastic and can scratch easily. I have a small nick in mine and that’s got me a bit bummed. I guess the lesson is, only wear this watch when you’re not going to get your wrist in a tight spot where it could get scratched against something real solid.
When I checked online …. this looks very nice, good price etc….. I can trust CASIO company and so, I ordered few watches. When I got it in hand, I saw the strap is very thin and it is hard to present to man. Only boys….. so, I recommend this watch if you are presenting this to boys. Price, Brand name is good. Cannot present to “MAN”s.
